IP Litigation Associate

The team advise on all types of (IP) disputes with expertise in working on patents, trademarks, copyright, passing off, domain name, design right and breach of confidence claims.

As an associate within the IP team you will be responsible for managing your own client portfolio across trade mark and patent, copyright and database rights matters whilst assisting on existing caseloads and leading business development activities. Whilst the role is predominantly contentious there are elements of non-contentious IP work. There is also the opportunity to work on IP portfolio matters and trade mark and design contentious registry proceedings before the tribunals and courts.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage own files and supporting the partner's caseload
• Managing less experienced associates.
• Corresponding with clients, counsel, expert witnesses and third parties
• Managing, coordinating and overseeing the performance of all essential steps in an IP case including:  briefing counsel, disclosure, producing witness statements and expert reports
• Liaising with clients and handling matters with the appropriate sensitivity
• Responsibility and management of an existing caseload

Key Skills & Experience

• Experienced qualified lawyer with IP trade mark, copyright, database rights litigation experience
• Minimum PQE 2 years.
• Strong academic record
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work methodically essential
• Exceptional organisational/time management skills
• Reliable and professional manner
• High standards of client service and responsiveness
